Braddock’s Battlefield History Center (BBHC) is seeking a passionate and creative part-time museum education manager to join their team!
About Braddock's Battlefield History Center The BBHC, in North Braddock, Pa., stands on the very ground where the Battle of the Monongahela — better known as “Braddock's Defeat” — took place. It is the most widely recognized battle of the French and Indian War (1754-1763), which developed into the first worldwide great powers conflict, the Seven Years' War (1756-63). This battle was crucial to the military education of a young George Washington and helped inform his destiny as commander of the Continental Army in the American Revolution.
Position Summary: The BBHC seeks an enthusiastic and creative part-time museum education manager for a flexible twenty-hour per week, full-year position. The successful candidate will build relationships with local school districts through engaging and creative in-school programs and field trip experiences. This role will be key in fostering knowledge leading up to and following the Battle of the Monongahela and its consequences locally and globally in the 18th century for students in the Mon Valley region and beyond. This two-year grant-funded position was created specifically to build relationships with local schools and increase the number of school field trip experiences at the BBHC, with specific and measurable goals that need to be met.
