Education Programs

BBHC school programs are an opportunity to learn about history on the actual site where one of the most influential events in our American story took place. The museum offers Guided Tours and a choice of different hands-on activities for the entire class. The activities and the tour demonstrate the fascinating and consequential history of the battle that sent shockwaves throughout the world.​

Hands-on History Choices

Participate in a guided tour, plus one hands-on activity of your choice (options below).
Cost: $7 per student. Funding assistance is available for qualifying schools.

Quill Pen Writing

Students will learn about communication methods in the 1750’s and learn techniques for writing with a quill pen and ink.  
​We’re sure your students will enjoy this challenging and fun activity.

Contact us to have your students complete one of our many unique and fun craft activities! Students will get this hands-on experience and get to take the item home with them.

STEM-behind-
the History

Explore the underlying STEM of the Braddock campaign. Students will learn about the science and technology of the 18th Century, engineering of forts and roads, logistics to feed and shelter soldiers, and the use of powerful artillery - ending with a mortar firing!


​Homeschool Programs

​


Each month the BBHC offers homeschool students ages 6-17 and their family’s educational history programs related to the Battle of the Monongahela and the French and Indian War. Topics include historical events, the Indigenous people of the region, the daily lives of 18th century colonial men and women, archaeology, and more!
 
The cost is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children (6-17).
